Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in 10-years

Author: Lance Winslow

What will unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs be like in ten-years? We know that the science is moving along very rapidly now. It seems everyone wants these UAVs for all sorts of things; Life Guards, Coast Guard, Weather Research, Planetary Exploration, Fire Fighting, Police Patrol, Animal Migrations and Military. But as the commercial uses and public safety uses continue so to will the innovation and research, so what will we see in ten years with UAVs? Perhaps we will see the use organic brains, which could not be as susceptible to electronic attack.

That seems like a possible outgrowth in research considering the needs of our military and yes our current enemy is unsophisticated, but our future enemy may not be, including our emboldened evolving enemy, with a little help from friends we pretend are our allies? Al Queda and Hamas are using UAVs now, albeit radio controlled model airplane technologies mostly. Remembering that two-enemies may become better friends at your expense and thus the sales of more sophisticated UAVs maybe on the horizon and/or given to our enemies, the International Terrorists or Insurgents. Just like we know that the enemy or our enemy is our temporary friend today? Today our enemy is a created reality, practice is you will, tomorrow it may not be, as humans love to repeat history. Perhaps we should be thinking here as the battlespace is undergoing a lot of change as of late. Think on this.
